Why was the Internet at Bomans Machinebouw suddenly so slow? We analysed it and it turned out we were not the only one looking around.

Even when there are few people in the office, our Internet was so very slow.
When we worked early in the morning or evening, we noticed that the Internet is so slow. As if we were sending files with 50 people at a time. We felt that something was wrong.
We contacted our Internet provider, who didn't see any peculiarities.
Nothing had changed in our Internet subscription. The bandwidth was still the same as when we took out our subscription. So there was clearly something going on with the use of the Internet.
Via our Internet provider we received a report about our use.
It turned out that even when nobody was present at the office there was Internet traffic in the middle of the night. Apparently, we are visited from the outside by people who want to look around in our systems. So our conventional firewall had little effect.
