‘Some time ago, I attended an ABN AMRO event on cybersecurity, where an MMOX expert spoke about social engineering,’ says Marlon, who has been leading Siebtechnik Tema for 15 years. ‘I had already been thinking about optimizing our cybersecurity, and that seminar gave me the final push. Choosing a partner was easy: we’ve been banking with ABN AMRO for 35 years, and MMOX is their trusted cybersecurity partner.’
‘Having greater control over cybersecurity is also crucial for our competitive position’
Siebtechnik Tema builds and sells machines to chemical plants worldwide, including the chemical, food, and recycling industries. ‘We have a lot of confidentiality clauses on our servers, which makes us an attractive target. We receive fake inquiries daily via email and WhatsApp.’ But Marlon had an even bigger reason for bringing in MMOX. ‘Some of our clients are semi-government organizations, and they will soon require us to be NIS2-compliant. This isn’t just a legal requirement—it’s also key to staying competitive. We are known as a solid and reliable machine manufacturer, and we intend to keep it that way.’
‘MMOX shows that cybersecurity isn’t just an IT issue—it affects the entire organization’
MMOX helps businesses enhance their cybersecurity and regularly assists them in achieving NIS2 compliance. ‘Our account manager provided us with a detailed roadmap,’ Marlon explains. ‘The first step was a Cyber Awareness Training to educate employees about their behavior and the impact of cyber incidents. MMOX made it clear that cybersecurity isn’t just the IT department’s responsibility—it’s something that involves the entire company.’
As part of an in-depth assessment, MMOX analyzed all of Siebtechnik Tema’s hardware and identified potential risks. ‘They now monitor our systems remotely using Cyber Sensors. If they detect suspicious activity, they act immediately,’ Marlon says. ‘Whenever we receive questionable emails, we forward them directly to MMOX for analysis. They’re also developing an emergency response plan in case something ever does go wrong. This way, we have 24/7 protection.’
‘Every six weeks, we review progress with MMOX,’ Marlon continues. ‘We discuss how things are going and plan the next steps. Our external IT partner is always involved in these meetings, ensuring close collaboration with MMOX. NIS2 compliance can be complicated, but this structured approach makes it manageable and actionable.’
